P bobulochycork Student not everyone has the same chioce to smoak or not. What is the need for smoking? Smokers believe that it will give them energy to work long.
Send Email Cancel Public perception may signal to us that smoking is all bad and ruining lives. And yes, it is true that cigarettes are one of the leading causes of death in the world, but what if I told you there are more benefits to keeping cigarettes legal as opposed to banning them?
The truth is that we are simply too far in the game. And while that is much less than it was in previous decades, that is still too large a number. To suddenly ban smoking would be a major imposition to a large percent of the population.
Perhaps if cigarettes were not as popular as they are now, than implementing a ban on them would have had a less drastic effect. This however is not the case. For regular smokers, not smoking for even a couple of hours can give way to uneasiness and withdrawal symptoms.
After only a couple of hours of enacting this law will it prove chaotic. Indeed, some smokers will control themselves and abide by the law, but many others are likely to resort to illegal activity. And all this illegal activity will certainly not help the already growing issue of overcrowding in US jails.
The worst part is that those who smuggle cigarettes into the country will be getting paid a fortune for their cigarettes. If cigarettes are going to be used regardless of whether they are illegal, than it is best it be done in a legal fashion.
It is also important to note the negative impacts this ban would have on the economy. With thousands of farmers and industrial workers employed by the tobacco industry, banning cigarettes would serve as a major hit to the economy.
That is a lot of people with a good job. Unfortunately, many tobacco farmers lack good alternatives to tobacco, as they have tobacco-specific equipment, buildings, and experience.
And just as those in the tobacco field will lose their jobs, so will those working for cigarette companies. Major cigarette companies such as Marlboro, Lucky Strike and Dunhill will go out of business.
If the United States bans production, other nations will reap the benefits. The legalization of cigarettes is also helping the government as cigarettes are heavily taxed.
If cigarettes we to be banned, the overall result would be a higher unemployment rate and a worsened economy. People have the right to do what they want with themselves as long as it pertains to their personal life.
Besides, those who smoke will continue to smoke regardless of any sort of ban attempting to stop them. A ban on cigarettes would not only prove ineffective but also chaotic.
